"Fuaßabdruck" Tote Bag
Tote bag “Es warad wengam Fuaßabdruck” – a collaboration between Volkshilfe Wien and Job-TransFair
We all leave footprints – in sand, in snow, on the bathroom floor, in mud, in plaster, but also much larger and more generally: on this Earth. The ecological footprint indicates the amount of forest, pasture, cropland, and marine area needed to regenerate our consumed resources and absorb the resulting waste. It is a measure of how much the Earth's ecosystem and natural resources are strained by our actions, consumption, and lifestyle.
Our shared goal must be to minimize these footprints: recycling, upcycling, reusing, repairing, circular economy, sustainable consumption – these should not just be buzzwords, but the foundation of our daily actions.
With the tote bag “Es warad wengam Fuaßabdruck,” we want to make a collective statement:
Sustainability is not only necessary, but also possible – and collaboration is often the key to success. Our footprint tote bag is the result of a partnership between Volkshilfe Wien and Job-TransFair (DIE KÜMMEREI). Volkshilfe sewed the bags in its workshop using discarded scrubs and work pants, which were then printed at DIE KÜMMEREI’s FAIRtigung Textil. Both sewing and printing were carried out by and with transitional workers in Vienna. Social, regional, and sustainable.
With this tote bag, a discarded item becomes a collaborative product. We want to offer customers at SCHÖN&GUT a practical and reusable alternative to the plain paper bag at checkout.
The bag is available in light blue and white stripes with orange print, or white with black print. It always features two external pockets and offers plenty of space for groceries and everyday items.
Size: approx. 42 cm × 39 cm
Available now at SCHÖN&GUT. Let’s keep reminding each other that our actions have an impact. Es warad wengam Fuaßabdruck.
