Born in 1978, Maria Hera is a German artist with roots in Transylvania, Romania. She studied Fine Arts at the University of Applied Sciences in Hanover under Prof. Sigrun Jakubaschke and Prof. Bernhard Garbert, and is a master student of Prof. Bernhard Gabert. Since 2008, she has lived and worked in Vienna. Since then, Maria Hera has been active as an installation and performance artist, experimental filmmaker, and street artist in Vienna.

Born from the DADA movement and its revolutionary aspirations, the collage entered the creative repertoire of the general public in the 1970s. As such, it is one of the most democratic artistic techniques, enabling people to creatively transcend the world around them.

Images impact our subconscious within fractions of a second, influencing our emotions, thoughts, and ultimately our reality. I've always used scissors and glue to intellectually explore visual media messages and to create my own vision of reality. I love telling stories—stories worth telling, stories that spark wonder, provoke thought, and ignite the fire of inspiration.
