"I dream of touching people at the core of their being."
MARIA HERA MfA.
Born in 1978, she is a German artist with roots in Transylvania, Romania. She studied fine arts at FH Hannover with Prof. Sigrun Jakubachke and Prof. Bernhard Garbert and was a master student of Prof. Bernhard Gabert. Since 2008, she has lived and worked in Vienna. Since 2008, Maria Hera has been active in Vienna as an installation and performance artist, experimental filmmaker, and street artist.
Born from the DADA movement and its revolutionary spirit, collage entered the creative repertoire of the wider public in the 1970s. It is thus one of the democratic artistic techniques that allow citizens to creatively transcend the world around them.
Images influence our subconscious in fractions of a second and thus affect our feelings, thoughts, and ultimately our reality. I have always used scissors and glue to intellectually explore visual media messages and to create my own vision of reality. I love telling stories. Stories worth telling — to wonder, inspire, and ignite the fire of inspiration.
