"I dream of touching people at the core of their being."
MARIA HERA MfA.
Born in 1978, she is a German artist with roots in Transylvania, Romania. She studied fine arts at FH Hannover under Prof. Sigrun Jakubachke and Prof. Bernhard Garbert and is a master student of Prof. Bernhard Gabert. Since 2008, she has lived and worked in Vienna. Since 2008, Maria Hera has been active in Vienna as an installation and performance artist, experimental filmmaker, and street artist.
Born from the DADA movement and its revolutionary spirit, collage found its way into the creative repertoire of the general public in the 1970s. Thus, it is one of the democratic artistic techniques that allow citizens to creatively transcend the world around them.
Images affect our subconscious in fractions of a second and thus influence our feelings, thoughts, and ultimately our reality. Since always, I have used scissors and glue to intellectually explore visual media messages and create my own vision of reality. I love telling stories — stories worth telling, to inspire wonder, stimulate, and ignite the fire of inspiration.
